Aims and objectives
To realise its vision and achieve its mission, Jigsaw will:

• fulfil its obligations to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
• advocate for children and their families
• provide a fully informed network of agencies in New Zealand who work ‘through children’s eyes’ to prevent child abuse, neglect and family violence
• promote an awareness of the problem of child abuse and neglect, and the serious impact of family violence on children at a national policy level and in the media
• support, strengthen and facilitate exchange between affiliated agencies
• coordinate national training programmes or training projects for affiliated agencies
• develop strong collegial networks with other national and regional agencies working in fields related to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and the prevention of violence in families
• foster ties between community and government agencies in related fields
• make input into relevant government policy and service development initiatives, and lobby nationally on behalf of affiliated agencies.
