Aims and objectives To
realise its vision and achieve its mission, Jigsaw will:
- fulfil its obligations to Te Tiriti O Waitangi
- advocate for children and their families
- provide a fully informed network of agencies in New
Zealand who work ‘through children’s eyes’ to prevent child
abuse, neglect and family violence
- promote an awareness of the problem of child abuse and
neglect, and the serious impact of family violence on
children at a national policy level and in the media
- support, strengthen and facilitate exchange between
affiliated agencies
- coordinate national training programmes or training
projects for affiliated agencies
- develop strong collegial networks with other national
and regional agencies working in fields related to the
prevention of child abuse and neglect, and the prevention of
violence in families
- foster ties between community and government agencies in
related fields
- make input into relevant government policy and service
development initiatives, and lobby nationally on behalf of
affiliated agencies.
