We believe that children and families are precious, and that all families want what is best for their children. We know that all of us as parents can struggle and that sometimes we are really stuck. We believe that change is possible, that different kinds of problems change with different types of work, and that each person prefers some ways of working on personal and family matters over others.

Building strong families takes work and skill. We can help you to change the parts that you want to change in your family life and relationships, particularly in relation to:
• raising children
• building positive relationships
• breaking cycles of violence and harm
• ensuring safety and wellbeing.

We do this through courses and programmes that teach skills and give ideas and support (parenting courses, groups for mothers or fathers or children), home-based social work (a social worker comes to see and understand your family and then works with you and/or other family members to get the help and make the changes you need), counselling (working directly one-to-one or in groups with feelings, attitudes, hopes and fears to make needed changes) and abuse and neglect prevention (working always to promote safe and violence-free homes through education, crisis assistance and healing).

Jigsaw agencies are all community-based and community driven. Some offer a wide range of services and others specialise. See In your region for information on each agency in our network.
