The Anger Change Programme

This is a crisis intervention and therapeutic group for parents who are worried that they will take their feelings of anger out on their children.

How does it work?
A range of activities provide participants with the opportunity to explore their anger, where it comes from, what triggers it and why. This helps the participants realise that feelings and actions from their past often get reactivated with their own children. This realisation enables parents to separate the cause of their anger from their child and by looking at past and present family patterns, the true origin and the cause of these
feelings can be identified.

What does it involve from me?
The programme requires a high level of commitment from every participant. If you decide that this is for you, it is important that you attend every session. You can break the cycle of family violence by changing your own behaviour. We learn about change by changing ourselves.

How long is the programme?
It runs for up to 18 hours over a two-month period.

How big are the groups?
The Anger Change groups are designed to be small and include four to eight parents.

Who runs the programme?
Anger Change is facilitated by professionally trained and supervised staff, who attend regular supervision and ongoing personal development.
